Daytripping Around Maryland: Overview

Daytripping Around Maryland: Overview

There are so many unique places to visit in our small state of Maryland. From the mountains to the ocean, they don't call us "Little America" for nothing! Our favorite giant crab, Buddy C. Weed has spent the summer traveling the state to find the best daytrips for you.

Maryland Daytrippin' Part 1: Northwest Baltimore

We started this journey exploring the area around Cockeysville and drove down York Road to Towson. In this issue, find details on the Hot August music festival, local hiking, biking trails, as well as great tips on where to eat!

Maryland Daytrippin' Part 2: North/Northeast Baltimore

In this issue, we go back in time with a visit the Baltimore's oldest snowball stand or catch a double (or triple) feature at a drive-in movie theater. We also share several locally-owned restaurants, favorite bars, and several dispensaries with great deals!

Maryland Daytrippin' Part 3: The Beach

Ocean City, Maryland is surrounded by water, with the entire 10-mile stretch  Atlantic Ocean beach FREE and accessible from every side street. There are also great sightseeing tours available that allow you to explore the ocean and bay via boats, kayaks and catamarans. Or rent paddle boards, kayaks, or canoes and head out on your own. Ocean City, Maryland also offers some of the best surfing in the mid-Atlantic! Read this issue to find the insiders guide to the best restaurants, bars and activities in Ocean City and surrounding areas.

Maryland Daytrippin' Part 4: The Mountains

Western Maryland is as historic as it is scenic. There are unlimited events and activities to explore the outdoors year round. Make the most of every season, skiing, biking, hiking, boating, swimming, rafting, shopping small towns, visiting historic sites, or just relaxing lakeside! Read this blog to give you an overview of all Garrett and Allegany Counties have to offer and how to plan a fun weekend getaway!

Maryland Daytrippin' Part 5: Montgomery & Howard Counties

In this issue, we visit Howard and Montgomery Counties, two pockets of the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. suburbs known as much for their scenic sights as they are for their shopping/dining hot spots. As Summer is coming to an end, check out the Fall festivities with apple-picking, pumpkin festivals, music festivals, and much more!

Check back as we'll be frequently updating our blog with daytrips to Southern Maryland, Frederick, and Westminster.

As always, have fun, enjoy the weather, and every now and then, turn off your GPS and get lost. Share any great hidden spots you find along your way!
